Songstress Wiyaala Electrifies 13th African Games Closing Ceremony

Ghanaian international songstress, Wiyaala, delivered a mesmerising performance at the closing ceremony of the 13th African Games, which took place on Saturday at the University of Ghana sports stadium.

Known as the ‘Lioness of Africa’, Wiyaala showcased her powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence, captivating the audience with her soul-stirring performance.

Dressed in vibrant, colorful attire, she performed a mix of Afro-pop, rock, and traditional African rhythms, including songs like ‘Africa’ and ‘Coming With Fire’, leaving the crowd in awe of her musical talent and magnetic charm.

Many attendees and online viewers showered her with applause for her outstanding performance, likening her to Angelique Kidjo.

Known in real life as Noella Wiyaala Nwadei, she launched her solo career in 2013 with the popular single ‘Rock My Body’.

One of the defining aspects of Wiyaala’s presence in the Ghanaian music industry is her adeptness at blending her native languages of Sisala and Waala dialects with English in her song compositions. Some of her notable tracks include ‘Leno’, ‘Idunne’, ‘Woyaye’, ‘Siiko’, and ‘Tuma’.
