Work to ensure peaceful elections in 2024– Ga Traditional Council charges NCCE

The Ga Traditional Council has charged the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to intensify its public education on democratic principles. That, the Council said, was to ensure peaceful elections come December 2024 to sustain the country's democratic gains. Immigration Officer calls for censure of social media contents

Deputy Superintendent of Immigration (DSI), Mr Robert Ubindam, Head of Operations and Intelligence at the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), Paga Border has noted that some social media contents instigate conflicts and should be censured. He said “There must be a deliberate government policy to censure what people put out on social media." He indicated that regulating social media posts could be complex, and needed approaches that would allow freedom of speech to regulate contents. Catholic Relief Services trains journalists on preventing violent extremism

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) has organised a two-day media training workshop on Prevention of Violent Extremism through Social Accountability (PoVETSA) project in Tamale. It was aimed at strategically building consensus and trust to improve media-security agency relationship towards preventing violent extremism in the country. The Ghana National Petroleum Commission (GNPC) has cut the sod for the construction of a three-unit classroom block for Saltpond-Ankaful community in the Mfantseman Municipality. The classroom block is in fulfillment to a promise by the Commission to make education accessible for children in the community. It formed part of the Commission’s corporate social responsibility in the Saltpond township which hosted the Saltpond Oil Fields, Ghana’s oldest oil field for more than 50 years. More than 1,200 youth receive entrepreneurship, skills training in Krachi East

More than 1,200 persons from the Krachi East Municipality have received entrepreneurship and skills training. The six-day workshop was organised and funded by Mr Michael Yaw Gyato, Parliamentary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former Member of Parliament (MP) for Krachi East, in collaboration with Aseda Foundation. The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has donated stationaries, television sets, decoders, and toiletries to support inmates at the Nsawam Security Prisons. The donation was led by Mr John Ajet-Nasam on behalf of Pastor Evelyn Joshua, Wife of the late TB Joshua. The donation was part of an effort to keep the legacy of the late TB Joshua’s foundation of giving to the poor and needy in society.
