The All Star Festival, Tamale2024 has been duly launched

The much anticipated All Star Festival, Tamale2024, has officially been launched. The launch ceremony was held on Thursday, May 2nd, at the Mariam Hotel in Tamale. It was a grand affair that sets the stage for what promises to be a truly unforgettable event.

This launch officially kick-starts activities of the festival, beginning with the Community Football Gala which involves sixteen communities selected from Tamale. The gala will begin on Friday, 3rd May.

Gracing the occasion with their presence were dignitaries who are instrumental to the growth and development of Tamale and the Northern region as a whole. The Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu, and the Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association, Alhaji Hassan Abu Rhyzo were present at the launch.

The Northern Regional Minister delivered a speech highlighting the importance of sports. “The role of sports in our lives cannot be underestimated because it has brought excitement, tighten friendship, and has provided numerous employment opportunities’’ Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu remarked.

He was also given the task of declaring the festival officially launched. “On behalf of the Chiefs and the Business Africa Consulting Group (BAC Group), I wish to declare the All Star Festival in Tamale duly launched”.

The Northern Regional Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Hassan Abu Rhyzo expressed his enthusiasm and preparedness of Tamale as host for the third edition of the All Star Festival.

“Tamale is ready and prepared to host the world in 2024 as far as the All Star Festival is concerned” – Alhaji Hassan Abu Rhyzo said.

The launch was also witnessed by some of Ghana’s football greats that have roots to the city of Tamale. Ex-football players such former Asante Kotoko, RTU and Black Stars player, Anane Kobo, former Black Stars shot stopper, Abubakari Damba, Mohammed Abdulai ‘Choo’, Mohammed Gargo, Alhaji Dawuda Ahmed Jaato, former Black Stars deputy coach, Mashud Didi Dramani, among others were present at the launch.

The ceremony wasn’t without a spice of entertainment. The Yumzaa cultural group thrilled the audience members with some cultural dances and display.

The All Star Festival, organized by the BAC Group, is Africa’s official off-season football gathering that brings together international and local football stars to show case their footballing skills while also projecting Ghana’s culture.

The third edition which comes off at Tamale is slated for June.
