Presbyterians urged to uphold, preserve the values of disciplined and integrity

The Reverend Gilbert Ntow Asare, the Minister in-charge of the Ebenezer Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) at Bechem- Junction, has urged the congregation to uphold the values of discipline and integrity in their private and secular lives.

He said undisciplined and untruthfulness remained alien and a slur on the teaching of the church, calling on them to change their attitude and impact positively in society.

Rev Asare gave the advice when speaking at a service to climax the 25th anniversary celebration of church at Bechem-Junction in the Ahafo Region on the theme: “Celebrating our Legacy-Ebenezer”.

He emphasised that, “The PCG prides itself with the virtues of discipline and integrity which makes it stands among its peers”, saying discipline and integrity breed cohesion, harmony, peace and orderliness in the home, school and society.

Rev Asare, also the Chaplain of the Bechem Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC) urged the congregation to always stand for the truth and avoid compromises in their social lives.

“We must endeavour to stand for the truth without fear and lead exemplary lives”, he advised, saying the congregation started the year 2000 with only eleven members and presently had about 150 members.

Mr Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, the Tano South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), called for effective collaboration between the church and government towards accelerated national development.

The congregation later presented a citation to Professor Joe Adu-Agyem, a Senior Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) for his immense contributions to the growth and development of the church.
