Police Arret Alleged Nigerian Fugitive in Akwatia

The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old Nigerian national believed to be on the run after allegedly killing a woman and her daughter in Nigeria. The suspect, identified as Victor Benjamin Fejemirokum, was picked up in Akyem Wenchi, a suburb of Akwatia, where he had been hiding with friends.

According to police sources, Fejemirokum’s arrest follows the interception of a viral video circulating online, alleging that he abducted and murdered a woman who worked with Nigeria’s Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and her daughter in Abeokuta, Ogun State. He was reportedly wanted by Nigerian authorities but fled to Ghana in an attempt to evade arrest.

Upon receiving intelligence about his whereabouts, the Eastern South Regional Police Command quickly launched an intelligence-led operation, leading to his capture at his hideout in Akyem Wenchi.

The suspect is currently in police custody as Ghanaian authorities collaborate with their Nigerian counterparts to facilitate his transfer for further investigation and prosecution.

The Police Command is urging the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious individuals or movements within their communities to help prevent crime. Authorities also assured residents of continuous and sustained operations aimed at clamping down on criminal activities across the region.
