The Member of Parliament for Mpraeso, Davis Ansah Opoku, has announced that the paragliding landing site at Nkawkaw is fully prepared ahead of this year’s Kwahu Easter celebrations.
According to the MP, the preparation follows concerns raised by organisers and some pilots about the condition of the landing site weeks before the festivities. In response, he engaged the Municipal Chief Executive for Kwahu South Municipal District to address the issue.
Mr. Opoku said after the concerns were communicated, the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Julius Debrah, was briefed on the matter and quickly agreed to support and fund the necessary works needed to prepare the landing site.

“After being briefed on the matter, the Chief of Staff readily agreed to support and fund the necessary works to prepare the site,” Mr. Opoku noted.
He expressed satisfaction that the landing site in Nkawkaw is now ready to host paragliding activities during the Easter festivities, describing it as an important step in ensuring the success of the event.
The MP extended his appreciation to the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, as well as key stakeholders including Nana Abra Appiah and Nana Geowags, together with the two Municipal Chief Executives, for their cooperation and commitment in ensuring that this year’s paragliding exercise takes place successfully.
Kwahu Easter, which features the popular paragliding event at Odweanoma Paragliding Site, has over the years grown into one of Ghana’s most significant tourism and cultural attractions, drawing thousands of local and international visitors.
Mr. Opoku noted that continued collaboration among government officials, traditional leaders, and event organisers remains essential in sustaining and growing the Kwahu Easter tradition.
