Nalerugu Nurses and Midwifery Training College  Principal Suspended Over Unauthorized Admissions

The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has directed the immediate suspension of the Principal of the Nalerugu Nurses and Midwifery Training College over alleged unauthorized admissions.

The directive was issued during the Minister’s working tour of the Upper East, North-East and Northern Regions, where he visited several health facilities and training institutions to assess operational efficiency and service delivery.

According to information gathered during the tour, the Minister had earlier been briefed about irregular admissions processes at the Nalerugu-based training college. Upon visiting the institution and reviewing preliminary findings, he ordered the immediate suspension of the Head of the College pending further investigations.

Mr. Akandoh emphasized that strict adherence to established admission protocols within health training institutions is non-negotiable. He cautioned that any head of institution found to be engaging in unauthorized or irregular practices would face severe sanctions.

He further reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and maintaining high academic and professional standards across all health training institutions in the country.

The suspension is expected to pave the way for a thorough investigation into the matter, with the Ministry assuring the public that appropriate action will be taken based on the outcome of the probe.
