Rising football talent Marvin Senaya has officially pledged his international future to Ghana, turning down the opportunity to represent Togo after receiving national team call-ups from both countries.
The decision comes after what many described as a “call-up clash” between the two nations, each seeking to secure the services of the promising defender. However, Senaya has now made his stance clear, expressing deep pride in choosing Ghana.
In a statement shared on social media, Senaya said he feels “deeply honored” to have been selected to represent Ghana, describing the country as a “soccer nation with a rich history.” He added that he is “thrilled” by the opportunity and committed to representing the nation with “pride, loyalty, and patriotism.”

Ghana, known globally for its football legacy and passionate fan base, has consistently attracted dual-nationality players seeking to connect with their roots or embrace new opportunities on the international stage. Senaya’s decision further strengthens the Ghana national football team, as they continue to build a competitive squad for upcoming tournaments.
While Togo will be disappointed to miss out on the talented youngster, Ghanaian supporters have welcomed the news with excitement, seeing Senaya as a valuable addition to the national team setup.
With this commitment, all eyes will now be on Senaya as he begins his journey in the famous Black Stars jersey, carrying the hopes of a nation known for its love of the beautiful game.
