Kwahu Set for Massive Easter Turnout as Tourism Peaks

Kwahu in Ghana’s Eastern Region is bracing for a major influx of tourists as the 2026 Easter celebrations approach, with excitement building across the country.

Known for its unique fusion of spirituality, culture, and adventure, Kwahu Easter has become one of Ghana’s most anticipated annual events. This year is expected to draw thousands of revellers, with the iconic paragliding activity at the Kwahu Paragliding Site once again serving as the highlight.

Tourism operators and local authorities say preparations are far advanced to ensure a smooth and memorable experience for visitors. Roads leading to key towns such as Nkawkaw, Mpraeso, and Atibie have seen improvements, while hotels and guesthouses are recording early bookings.

“We are fully prepared for this year’s Easter festivities. Security, transportation, and hospitality services have all been strengthened,” a local tourism coordinator stated.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore some of Kwahu’s most breathtaking attractions, including the scenic Odweanoma Mountain, the serene Oworobong Waterfalls, and the culturally significant Kwahu Tafo Palace.

Meanwhile, economic activity is expected to surge, particularly at the bustling Nkawkaw Central Market, where traders are preparing for increased demand in food, clothing, and souvenirs.

Security agencies have also announced tight measures to ensure public safety throughout the festivities, with personnel deployed across major event centers and tourist sites.

Kwahu Easter remains a symbol of unity and celebration, bringing together people from all walks of life. From thrilling mountain flights to peaceful nature escapes, the festival continues to position Kwahu as Ghana’s ultimate Easter destination.
