The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, officially opened a two-day Regional Crime Officers’ Conference aimed at strengthening the investigative capacity of crime officers across the country.

The conference, which brought together Regional Crime Officers from all parts of Ghana, seeks to enhance professional standards in criminal investigations and promote effective crime detection and prosecution nationwide.

Mr. Yohuno was accompanied by members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), underscoring the importance the Police Administration places on building a well-equipped and responsive investigative unit within the Ghana Police Service.

In his opening remarks, the IGP emphasized the need for continuous training, intelligence-led policing, and collaboration among crime officers to address evolving crime trends. He encouraged participants to share experiences, best practices, and challenges encountered in the line of duty, noting that such engagements are key to improving service delivery and public confidence in the police.

The two-day conference is expected to focus on modern investigative techniques, case management, inter-agency cooperation, and ethical standards, as part of broader efforts to strengthen law enforcement and ensure public safety.

Participants are expected to return to their respective regions better equipped with knowledge and strategies to enhance crime prevention and investigation.
