The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, today met with former Inspectors-General of Police at the National Police Headquarters in Accra to seek their counsel and share experiences aimed at enhancing the administrative and operational effectiveness of the Ghana Police Service.
The meeting, which sought to strengthen collaboration between the current and past leadership of the Police Service, was attended by several former IGPs, including Mr. C.K. Dewornu, Mr. Ernest Owusu-Poku, Nana Owusu-Nsiah, Mr. Patrick Acheampong, Mrs. Elizabeth Mills-Robertson, Dr. John Kudalor, Mr. David Asante-Apeatu, and Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh.
Discussions focused on key issues such as personnel welfare, crime-fighting efforts across the country, stakeholder engagements, ongoing reforms within the Police Service, and other general matters concerning security, law, and order in the country.

The engagement ended with a commitment from all parties to hold regular meetings to support the continuous growth and development of the Ghana Police Service. Also present at the meeting were members of the Police Management Board (POMAB).
This initiative highlights the importance of leveraging past experiences and leadership insights to drive reforms and enhance security in Ghana.
