Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has condemned the unfortunate scenes that occurred following their Ghana Premier League clash with arch-rivals Asante Kotoko SC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
In an official statement signed by the club’s management, Hearts of Oak expressed deep regret over the incident and reiterated their commitment to the principles of discipline, respect, and fair play.
“These moments do not reflect the values we uphold as a club — values rooted in discipline, respect, and the spirit of fair play,” the statement read.

The club extended an unreserved apology to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), match officials, supporters, and the general public for the unsportsmanlike conduct that marred the end of the game.
Hearts of Oak further announced that internal disciplinary processes have been initiated concerning the player involved in the incident. The club emphasized that these measures are aimed at ensuring accountability and preventing similar occurrences in the future.
“Football is a game of passion, but it must always be governed by respect. We remain committed to upholding the dignity of our badge and the trust of our supporters,” the club stated.
The Phobians also expressed gratitude to their supporters, who turned up in large numbers for the high-profile fixture, assuring them that steps are being taken to restore confidence and uphold the highest standards of conduct.
“Your presence, energy, and commitment continue to inspire us, and we do not take it for granted,” the statement added.
