Deadline approaching: media accreditation for World Athletics Indoor Championships Nanjing 25

Media professionals wishing to cover the World Athletics Indoor Championships Nanjing 25, being held on 21-23 March 2025, are reminded that the deadline for media accreditation registration is 21 February.

In order to access the World Athletics online media accreditation system, press and photographers will need a specific access code. If you wish to attend and do not have an access code, please contact your national athletics federation.

The World Athletics online accreditation system website can be reached at: wasaccreditation.net/nanjing25/mediahome.aspx

All participants will require visas to attend the event. For media representatives, this means applying for J2 visas, regardless of their nationality. Even individuals from countries eligible for short-term visa-free travel must apply, as participation in WIC Nanjing 25 is considered ‘participation in a sporting event’.

Media accommodation

If you require accommodation, please request it when applying for accreditation. The deadline is 5 February 2025.

Reservation requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis and availability is not guaranteed after this date. However, the accommodation team will do all they can to assist you in this process.

The payment policies are defined in the accommodation request form.

A full deposit will be required to secure your accommodation and the total is due to be paid before 5 February 2025. The LOC will issue the invoice and charge the deposit only after the accreditation request has been approved by World Athletics.

New media accreditation guidelines

World Athletics has published its media accreditation guidelines for World Athletics Series (WAS) events, effective from 2025. These guidelines, now available under the ‘media’ section of the World Athletics Library, represent a step in adapting to the evolving needs and practices of global media and independent professionals.

The guidelines recognise the diverse and dynamic landscape of media coverage today. World Athletics is committed to providing a professional, respectful and efficient work environment for all accredited media. The new guidelines aim to meet the demands of a modern, global media workforce while maintaining the high standards expected of coverage at WAS events.

New content creator registration

Content creators interested in covering a World Athletics Series (WAS) event for editorial purposes only are invited to apply for accreditation directly with World Athletics at: wasaccreditation.net/wascc/

Applicants will need to create an account, after which World Athletics will review their application. Please note that accreditation is not guaranteed.

If approved, you will receive a confirmation email along with the ability to proceed with the full accreditation process, including submitting accommodation and travel details.

Once approved, the account created on WASCC can be used for other WAS events. However, World Athletics reserves the right to impose limits on content creator accreditation where necessary.
