The VODEC Africa, a non-profit organisation has held its fifth National Emerging Leaders Economic Forum (NELEF) 2025 with proposed initiatives to help position Ghana as the gateway for Africa’s development. The Kassena Nankana West District Assembly has launched a monthly sanitation exercise dubbed: “Clean Kassena Nankana West” in response to the relaunch of the National Sanitation Day initiative by President John Dramani Mahama. One dead, 20 injured in an accident in Cape Coast

The Central Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) on Tuesday, morning rescued 20 victims of a road crush on the Accra-Cape Coast highway, leaving one dead. According to the Central Regional Command, Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) a stationary Man Diesel truck with registration WR 1546-V, parked on the road shoulder due to a mechanical fault, was hit by a Mercedes Sprinter minibus (registration CR 623-25) travelling toward Cape Coast while overtaking another vehicle. The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has directed all car dealers, mechanic shops, taxi operators, squatters, temporary structure owners, and traders operating along the Santasi–Ahodwo stretch to vacate the area by October 30, 2025. The directive comes as part of preparations for the construction of a dual carriage road from Santasi to the Ahodwo Roundabout, linking the Asokwa Interchange. NIA Debunks Claims of Reduced Ghana Card Validity Period

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has dismissed reports circulating on social media suggesting that the validity period of the Ghana Card has been reduced from ten (10) years. In a statement, the Authority clarified that no such amendment to the law has been made or proposed, stressing that the Ghana Card remains valid for ten years from the date of issuance, after which renewal is required. The NIA explained that comments by its Executive Secretary, Mr. Wisdom Kwaku Deku, at a recent media engagement were misrepresented. The Committee’s mandate includes achieving a shared understanding of DStv pricing in Ghana and proposing mutually acceptable, commercially viable measures that respond to the Minister’s concerns.
