The Bono Regional Office of the Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a waste management and sanitation firm, has taken delivery of five new skip-trucks to improve waste collection and sanitation in the Region.
Mrs Benedict Awuah, the Bono Regional Coordinator of Zoomlion, who unveiled the trucks in Sunyani, told the media that they would serve as a backup to the company’s fleet trucks for waste collection.
She said the firm had split the Bono Region into five zones, saying each of the zones would receive a truck which would greatly improve waste collection and management in the local communities.

Mrs Awuah reaffirmed the company’s commitment to improving waste collection and proper sanitation in the country, and urged the people to avoid littering and indiscriminate dumping of plastic waste.
Miss Medina Doku, the Bono Regional Environmental Health Officer, advised the public to manage their household waste properly and desist from disposing plastic and other solid waste into gutters.
She said indiscriminate dumping of plastic waste and materials remained a challenge, urging households to segregate their waste and use the refuse collection containers.
Mr Joseph Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister, commended Zoomlion for efforts in improving sanitation and asked them to do more.
