Tragedy Strikes on Kumasi-Accra Highway: 15 Saviour Church Members Killed in Devastating Crash

A heartbreaking road accident on the Atwedie stretch of the Kumasi-Accra highway has claimed the lives of 15 members of the Saviour Church of Ghana in what is being described as one of the deadliest crashes in recent times.

The tragic incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Monday and involved a head-on collision between a vehicle transporting the church members and a fuel tanker traveling in the opposite direction.

According to reports, the victims were on their way back to Obogu, a community in the Asante Akyem South Municipality, after attending their church’s annual gathering held in the Eastern Region.

Emergency responders and local authorities arrived at the scene shortly after the crash, but unfortunately, many of the passengers were already deceased due to the severe impact of the collision.

The Saviour Church and the entire community have been left in mourning, with tributes pouring in for the lives lost in the tragic incident. Investigations are currently underway to determine the exact cause of the crash.

This devastating accident adds to the growing concerns over road safety in Ghana, especially along the busy Kumasi-Accra corridor, which has seen numerous fatal crashes in recent years.
