Black Queens wrap up 2025 WAFCON preparations with loss against Nigeria
The Black Queens of Ghana completed their preparations for the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with a 3-1 loss to Nigeria's Super Falcons on Sunday.
Despite a magnificent performance against one of Africa's best teams, the Black Queens were unable to maintain their winning streak from previous games against Malawi and Benin.
The Super Falcons who have won the WAFCON a record 11-times, took the lead in the 34th minute through a deflected shot from Chiwendu Iheazou, and Asisat Oshoala doubled the lead 10 minutes later with a penalty kick.
