Savelugu: Police Arrest Three For Alleged Weapon Smuggling
The Northern Regional Police Command has arrested three individuals suspected of smuggling weapons in Savelugu, following an intelligence-led operation.
The suspects—Gaba Abdallah Alhassan, Alhassan Abdallah, and Alhassan Abdul Kudus—were apprehended on May 1, 2025, at various hideouts within the area.
During the operation, police retrieved a cache of weapons and ammunition, including:
One AK-47 rifle
One submachine gun (SMG)
One Smith & Wesson SD40 VE pistol
One single-barrel shotgun
Two magazines
15 rounds of AK-47 ammunition
13 rounds of pistol ammunition
An additional 27 rounds of assorted ammunition
Five rounds of BB cartridges
