Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has announced the deferment of the commencement of the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic. The Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has directed all Members of Parliament (MPs), ministers, and deputy ministers to regularize their positions regarding offices of profit or emolument within 14 days. According to the Speaker, some MPs and ministers have allegedly been accepting appointments to various boards, committees, and external positions without seeking permission, which is a constitutional requirement. The suspension of four Members of Parliament (MPs) by the Speaker of Parliament has been welcomed by some citizens in the Hohoe Constituency of the Volta Region. Mr Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament, on Tuesday warned Members of Parliament (MPs) that any involvement in illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey, will face severe repercussions.  ".... Honourable members, galamsey must be confronted head on. If any of you happen to be involved in galamsey, please advise yourself. You must be prepared as a house to bite the bullet.
