Court sentences rider for making excessive noise with motorcycle
The Hohoe Circuit Court has sentenced Courage Nyansah, a motorcycle rider, to a sum of GH₵3,600 for making excessive noise with is bike, riding without a licence and use of unregistered motorcycle.
He pleaded guilty to all the charges which also include use of motorcycle without protective crash helmet, insurance as well as the fitting of unsuitable motorcycle parts.
Nyansah was sentenced on his own plea and would serve eight months in prison if he defaults in payment of the fine.
Prior the sentencing, Chief Inspector Charles Aziati, Prosecuting, told the Court presided over by Mr Lambert Y. Keriba, that the rate at which the unlicensed riders were using unregistered motorbikes to make noise and knocking down pedestrians in the Municipality, was alarming.
