Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Announces 2025 Closed Fishing Season for Marine Fleet
The Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development (MoFA), in collaboration with the Fisheries Commission, has officially announced the 2025 Closed Fishing Season for the marine fishing fleet as part of ongoing efforts to ensure the sustainability of Ghana’s marine resources.
The annual closed season, a critical component of Ghana’s fisheries management strategy, aims to replenish declining fish stocks and secure the long-term viability of the fishing industry, which supports food security, job creation, and economic development for millions of Ghanaians.
