‘We’ll upgrade TVET Centres to bridge gender gap,” Minister assures 

Mr. Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister of Education, has assured Ghanaians that Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) centres across the country will be made more practical under improved learning conditions to enhance employability of students.  In a speech during his verification visit to the Koforidua Technical Institute and St. Paul Technical Institute, both in the Eastern Region, Mr. Iddrisu said the Ministry was committed to aligning theoretical teaching with hands-on training to better equip learners for the job market.  He noted that such reforms were necessary to bridge the wide enrolment gap between male and female students, as over 55,000 candidates were sitting for the 2025 Certificate II Examinations under the TVET system - comprising 40,339 males and 14,...

Minister for Education inaugurates UDS Governing Council 

Mr Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister for Education has inaugurated the Governing Council of the University for Development Studies (UDS), with a call on members to prioritise the preservation of the University’s integrity and unique identity.  The Governing Council is chaired by Mr Abdulai Salifu, a former diplomat, with Professor Seidu Al-Hassan, the Vice-Chancellor of UDS, serving as Vice-Chairman.   Other members are Dr Fatimatu Iddrisu, Dr Arnold Abubakari Mashud, Madam Magdalene Awunyeliya, Professor Edmund Muonir Der, Dr Yaa Nyarko, Professor Mamudu Abunga Akudugu, Mrs Bruce Akambotuu, Mr Mohammed Abdulai, and Professor Terry Ansah, representing the UDS Alumni Association.  The rest are Mr Emmanuel Asampana, Mr Alhassan Issah Dokurugu and Mrs Abiba Nyar.  T...
