A Ghanaian family living in Abidjan, Ivory Coast has urged the Black Stars to go all out against Egypt as they remain solidly behind the team to make them proud. Madam Cynthia Bentil who hails from Mankesim in the Central Region of Ghana and living in Ivory Coast all her life said, they had not been happy in the country since the Black Stars lost their first Group B game against Cape Verde on Sunday. Akufo Addo tells Black Stars to target bringing the 2023 AFCON trophy home

President Akufo Addo of the Republic of Ghana has tasked the Black Stars to do anything possible to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations trophy. Having won the last AFCON trophy in 1982, Ghana has struggled to lift the prestigious trophy despite coming close in 1992, 2010 and 2015. Addressing the playing body at the farewell dinner in Kumasi, Akufo Addo told the players the target is to bring the trophy home. "The target is to bring the AFCON trophy home," he said. Black Stars changes training camp from Johannesburg to Kumasi for 2023 Afcon

The Ghana Football Association upon review meeting between the Management & Technical Team, has changed plans to camp the Black Stars in South Africa ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Ghana was originally scheduled to open a training camp in South Africa from Sunday, December 31, 2023, for a ten-day period ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Tournament in Cote D’Ivoire. Following the decision, the team will now camp in Kumasi beginning Tuesday, January 2, 2023. Record Media Accreditation Applications for TotalEnergies AFCON Côte d’Ivoire 2023 received by CAF

  The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has received over 5 000 media accreditation applications for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023 – 90% more than Cameroon 2021 edition. The media accreditation process closed on 24 November 2023.  Over 70 nationalities have applied to cover Africa’s biggest event. The high demand has necessitated that CAF implement quotas for all the countries due to space demands. CAF remains committed to ensure that fairness is applied across the board in allocation and implementation of quotas. CAF believes in creating access for media and promoting media freedom.
