Ho Assembly Relocates Slaughterhouse to Sokode Abbatoir
The Ho Municipal Assembly has announced the permanent relocation of the Ho Zongo Slaughterhouse to the Sokode Abattoir, effective Thursday, June 27, 2025.
This decisive move, according to municipal authorities, forms part of efforts to safeguard public health, improve hygiene standards, and enhance the quality of meat processing and distribution within the Municipality.
Announcing the decision at a stakeholder engagement meeting in Ho, Mr. Stephen Adom, Ho Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said the relocation was necessitated by the worsening conditions at the Zongo Slaughterhouse, which posed grave health risks to both consumers and school children nearby.
