President Akufo-Addo Commissions Tema Motorway Interchange Phase II

Connectivity between the two metropolitan areas of the Greater Accra region and the Eastern and Western frontiers of the country received a huge boost today following the commissioning of the second Phase of the Tema Motorway Interchange.  The third interchange that President Akufo-Addo has commissioned in just two weeks. During the commissioning of the electric buses on Wednesday, 27th November, a trained Kayayoo (Head porter) bus driver took Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on a ride through town. The occasion marked the graduation ceremony of a special programme aimed at equipping Kayayei (female head porters) with driving skills to enhance their employability and improve their livelihoo. More than one hundred head potters, popularly called ‘ kayakyei,” have been trained to manage the electric buses.
