EU Leads Effort to Build Deforestation-Free Cocoa Future in Ghana
The European Union in Ghana is spearheading efforts to promote sustainable cocoa production through its support for the Deforestation-Free Cocoa (DFC) Project, aimed at protecting forests while securing the livelihoods of cocoa farmers.
The initiative comes at a time when global expectations around sustainable sourcing are intensifying, particularly under regulatory frameworks such as the EU Deforestation Regulation, which requires cocoa and other commodities entering the European market to be traceable and free from deforestation.
