Three Nigerian Nationals Jailed for Vehicle Theft in Kumasi

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has announced the successful conviction of three Nigerian nationals involved in a series of vehicle thefts across the Kumasi Metropolis. The suspects, Francis Friday, Linus Agwazie, and Russell Ekenze — were arrested on June 20, 2025, after a police operation targeted their theft activities. On July 22, 2025, the trio appeared before the Atasemanso Circuit Court. During the proceedings, Ekenze pleaded guilty and was immediately sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour (IHL). His accomplices, Friday and Agwazie, pleaded not guilty and their cases were adjourned. Police Nab Suspected Kingpin in Nationwide Vehicle Theft Syndicate

The Greater Accra Regional Police Command has arrested the alleged ringleader of a widespread vehicle theft and rental fraud syndicate operating across multiple regions in Ghana. The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Nana Anderson—also known as Anderson Nana Abeka, Essel Kofi Elvis, and Willson Kojo Bismark—was apprehended on April 5, 2025, in a hideout located in Atasemanso, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
