Three Nigerian Nationals Jailed for Vehicle Theft in Kumasi
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has announced the successful conviction of three Nigerian nationals involved in a series of vehicle thefts across the Kumasi Metropolis.
The suspects, Francis Friday, Linus Agwazie, and Russell Ekenze — were arrested on June 20, 2025, after a police operation targeted their theft activities.
On July 22, 2025, the trio appeared before the Atasemanso Circuit Court. During the proceedings, Ekenze pleaded guilty and was immediately sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour (IHL). His accomplices, Friday and Agwazie, pleaded not guilty and their cases were adjourned.
The following day, July 23, 2025, Circuit Court 3 found Friday and Agwazie guilty on two counts and sentenced each of them to 8 years IHL, with the terms running concurrently. ...
