NACOC Arrests Alleged Drug Kingpin in Budumburam Operation
The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), on Friday, 16 January 2026, carried out a targeted anti-narcotics operation in Budumburam and surrounding communities within the Gomoa East Municipality of the Central Region.
The operation forms part of NACOC’s nationwide campaign aimed at clamping down on drug trafficking and substance abuse across the country.
The intelligence-led exercise resulted in the arrest of several suspects and the seizure of assorted illicit drugs. Among those arrested was a 32-year-old woman identified as Rebecca Afia Naa Dei Kotei, popularly known as “Mother”, who is described by local opinion leaders as a major player in the area’s drug trade and had reportedly evaded arrest in the past.
