IGP Leads Delegation to Bawku After Violent Incident Claims Life

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has led a high-powered delegation to Bawku following a violent clash between some youth and the police that left one person dead and several others injured. The delegation, which includes officers from operations, investigations, and intelligence units, is in the Upper East town to gain first-hand insight into the security situation and to assess the needs on the ground. The violence, which erupted on April 9, 2025, resulted in the tragic death of Fuseini Iddrisu. One soldier dead, six others injured in military vehicle crash near Zebilla  

One soldier has died while six others sustained varying degrees of injuries, after a fatal road crash at Saka near Zebilla in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.  The incident which involved a Ghana Armed Forces light-armoured vehicle is said to have occurred around 1600 hours on Saturday, February 22, 2025.  Eyewitness account to the Ghana News Agency, indicated that the vehicle was moving from the direction of Bawku towards Bolgatanga at top speed, when one of its tyres suddenly detached from it, causing the driver to lose control, leading to the accident.   The identities of the deceased and the other officers are yet to be made known, however the injured soldiers were rushed to the Zebilla government hospital for treatment and later airlifted to Ac...

Government must take bold step to restore peace in Bawku – Overlord of Kusaug
