The Stakeholder Committee set up to evaluate DStv pricing in Ghana has been granted a one-week extension to conclude its work. The Committee, which began its activities on September 8, 2025, was tasked with reviewing the cost of DStv services in the country and addressing key concerns raised by the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations.
The Committee’s mandate includes achieving a shared understanding of DStv pricing in Ghana and proposing mutually acceptable, commercially viable measures that respond to the Minister’s concerns. It is also working on establishing a roadmap to curb cross-border piracy of DStv decoders and services from Nigeria into Ghana.
According to the National Communications Authority (NCA), the Committee has made significant progress but requested additional time to complete its work. The Honourable Minister has approved the extension, with the final report expected by September 29, 2025.

The NCA, established under the National Communications Authority Act, 2008 (Act 769), is the statutory body mandated to license and regulate electronic communications activities and services in Ghana.
For further information, the NCA can be contacted at NCA Tower, Airport City, Accra, via telephone on (0)30-2776621/2771701 or 050-145-1522/3, or email at info@nca.org.gh.
