The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has arrested a soldier captured in a viral video physically assaulting two civilians a drug store attendant and a female customer at a pharmacy located within Burma Camp.
The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, sparked widespread public outrage after the video was aired on GHOne TV and circulated on various social media platforms.
According to a statement signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations for the Ghana Armed Forces, the suspect was arrested at dawn on Thursday, October 30, 2025, by personnel of the Ghana Military Police. The soldier is currently assisting with investigations into the matter.

The statement further indicated that the victims have received medical attention and are also cooperating with investigators to aid the ongoing inquiry.
“The Ghana Armed Forces wishes to assure the general public that it will not condone any acts of assault on civilians and will not shield any soldier found culpable of such misconduct,” the statement emphasized.
GAF reiterated its commitment to upholding professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights within the Armed Forces, adding that appropriate actions will be taken following the conclusion of investigations.
