Commonwealth Sport today announced that Sky New Zealand will be the exclusive New Zealand and Pacific Island broadcast media partner for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, which will take place in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23 July to 2 August next year.
The partnership with Sky includes coverage of the 2026 Commonwealth Games for TV, streaming services, radio and social media and ensures that New Zealanders and Pacific Islanders will be able to enjoy extensive live and free-to-air coverage.
Glasgow 2026 will be the 23rd edition of the Commonwealth Games and will feature an exhilarating 10-sport programme, across four of Glasgow’s iconic venues, with 3,000 athletes set to compete from across 74 Commonwealth nations and territories. Glasgow 2026 will once again be a fully integrated event, featuring six Para sports and a record 47 Para sport medal events, making it the largest integrated Para sport programme in Commonwealth Games history.

The 2026 Games will include Athletics and Para Athletics (track and field), Swimming and Para Swimming, Artistic Gymnastics, Track Cycling and Para Track Cycling, Netball, Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting, Boxing, Judo, Bowls and Para Bowls, and 3×3 Basketball and 3×3 Wheelchair Basketball.
Athletes will compete for more than 200 gold medals across the 10 days of sporting competition which will showcase the biggest Track Cycling and swim programmes ever seen at a Commonwealth Games. On the Athletics track, the infamous Commonwealth Mile will return, which is anticipated to be one of the must-see moments of the Games.

10 exhilarating sports across four of the city’s iconic venues; from Scotstoun Stadium to the Scottish Event Campus (SEC), the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and Arena, to Tollcross International Swimming Centre.Glasgow 2026 will see 3,000 volunteers, alongside thousands of fans, and communities from across the city join together to welcome 3,000 athletes from 74 nations and territories to the city.
Based in the city centre, the OC will directly employ around 160 people and is privately funded, securing its income through Commonwealth Sport, corporate sponsorship, broadcast rights, global partnerships and ticket sales, which will see almost £150 million direct external investment into the city of Glasgow, with no cost to the public purse to deliver the sporting competition.
