Relief for Paga SHS as Kacstone Records donates batteries to grounded vehicles

Kacstone Records, a cultural and music development company, has donated two vehicle batteries valued at GH¢5,500 to the Paga Senior High School in the Kassena Nankana West District, to ensure the vehicles are on the road.

The two vehicles, the school’s bus and pickup, had been grounded for months due to dysfunctional batteries, a situation that severely hampered the transportation of students and the donation is therefore expected to bring relief to the school.

Mr Duriyem Wenawome Aborah, the Managing Director of the company, who presented the batteries on behalf of Mr Michael Adangba, its headline Artist, and the entire label, said the gesture was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility and their contribution towards enhancing teaching and learning in the school.

He disclosed that beyond the battery support, the company was also constructing a standard volleyball court for the school, estimated at between GH¢30,000 and GH¢40,000, to be completed before the end of 2025.

He said the company was motivated to support the school because education played a vital role in the development of society and that the government alone could not shoulder the responsibility.

“We believe that individuals and corporate organisations must also lend a hand to complement government efforts. It is in this spirit that we have brought this support, and we plan to do more, including the construction of a volleyball court for the school before the end of the year,” Mr Aborah said.

Mr Aborah, who doubles as the Paga Youth Movement Chairman appealed to the government to expedite work on the E-block project in the school, which he said was about 90 per cent complete, and also called for the absorption of the school into the boarding system to improve teaching and learning outcomes.

Mr Isaac Kweku Boena, the Headteacher of the School, who received the items, expressed appreciation to Kacstone Records and the Paga Youth Association for their continuous support to the school.

He said the batteries would ease the transportation challenges the school had faced in recent months and assured that the vehicles would be well maintained for the benefit of the students.

“We were struggling to move students around as we had to sometimes transfer the battery from the pickup to the bus as a temporary measure. This donation has come as a huge relief, and we are grateful to the donors,” he said.

Mr Boena also appealed to the government to complete the ongoing E-block and to consider granting the school boarding status to help boost enrolment and improve student welfare.
