Police Arrest Man for Operating Illegal Clinic in Yeji

The Bono East Regional Police Command has arrested a man for allegedly operating an unlicensed health facility from his residence at Yeji Zongo.

The suspect, identified as Hanson Osei, was picked up on September 28, 2025, after police, acting on intelligence, discovered that he had converted a chamber-and-hall apartment into a makeshift clinic.

A search of the premises revealed several used medical items, including syringes, malaria injection bottles, infusion rubber sachets, and other clinical materials believed to have been used in his illegal practice.

During interrogation, Osei reportedly confessed that he had been running the unauthorized facility for the past 11 years without any certification from a recognized medical institution or approval from the relevant health authorities.

He was arraigned before the Tuobodom District Court on September 30, 2025, where he was remanded into custody. He is expected to reappear in court on October 6, 2025 to face charges.

The Bono East Police Command has urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious medical practices to the authorities to protect lives and ensure public health standards are upheld.
