NAGRAT Mourns Loss of Cabinet Ministers and Military Officers in Helicopter Crash

The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of two cabinet ministers, other government officials, and three military officers in a helicopter crash that occurred on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

In a statement signed by NAGRAT President, Eric Agbe-Carbonu, the association described the news as one received with “grief and shock”, noting the magnitude of the loss to the nation.

“On behalf of the members of NAGRAT, I wish to express our deepest condolences to the President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the families of the deceased, and the entire people of Ghana for this huge unimaginable loss,” the statement read.

Mr. Agbe-Carbonu prayed for divine mercy for the souls of the departed, saying, “May the Angels of God receive their souls and present them to God the Most High. Having met their untimely demise on the day of transfiguration, may they also be transfigured with the Lord.”

The NAGRAT leadership further called for comfort and consolation for the bereaved families, assuring them of the association’s prayers during this period of national mourning.

The August 6 helicopter crash has plunged the country into grief, as Ghanaians continue to pay tribute to the fallen leaders and officers who served the nation with dedication.
