The Upper West Regional Police Command has confirmed the arrest and successful prosecution of Mohammed Abudi for defiling a 13-year-old girl in the Guli community within the Wa Municipality.
According to a press release issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service, the crime occurred on Friday, April 11, 2025. Following a swift and proactive policing effort, Abudi was apprehended just two days later, on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
The case was heard at the Wa Circuit Court, where Abudi pleaded guilty to the charge. On April 23, 2025, His Lordship Jonathan Avoogo sentenced him to seven years imprisonment.
The Regional Police Command has issued a stern warning to potential offenders, emphasizing its commitment to protecting the vulnerable and urging individuals to desist from committing such heinous crimes.
