Kwabena Agyei Agyepong Mourns Victims of GAF Helicopter Crash, Extends Condolences to Bereaved Families

Renowned engineer and former NPP General Secretary, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight individuals in the Ashanti Region.

In a heartfelt statement released on Wednesday, Agyepong described the incident as a “devastating blow to our nation,” mourning the loss of courageous men—public servants and military personnel—who, he said, dedicated their lives to Ghana’s peace and stability.

“This is a moment of profound national grief,” Agyepong said. “We have lost courageous men; public servants and soldiers who dedicated their lives to the country’s peace and stability.”

Offering his condolences on behalf of himself, his family, and his campaign team, the former Press Secretary to President John Agyekum Kufuor extended sympathy to President John Mahama, the Government, the bereaved families, and the entire nation.

“I express my heartfelt condolences to the President, H.E. John Mahama, the government, the families of all who lost their lives, and to the Ghanaian populace. I mourn with all of you in this difficult time,” his statement read.

The accident, which occurred earlier today, claimed the lives of eight individuals, including top government officials and military officers. The tragic loss has drawn nationwide condolences, with prominent figures across political divides expressing solidarity with the bereaved.

Agyepong, a statesman with decades of service in Ghana’s political and engineering landscape, added that his thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families.

“May the souls of our dear compatriots rest in eternal peace,” he concluded.
