KNUST Declares Two Former Students Persona Non Grata Over Campus Misconduct

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has taken a decisive stance on campus safety and discipline by officially declaring two former students, Mr. Ransford Fosu-Boateng (alias “Scammer Baby”) and Mr. Raphael Appiah Owusu, persona non grata.

In a press release issued by the University’s Office of the Registrar on April 11, 2025, KNUST announced that the duo is no longer permitted on university premises following repeated violations of campus conduct policies. Mr. Fosu-Boateng was dismissed from the university on March 21, 2022, while Mr. Appiah Owusu’s dismissal took effect at the end of the 2023/2024 academic year.

Despite their removal from the university’s roll, both individuals reportedly continued to infiltrate KNUST’s residential halls, engaging in disruptive behavior, harassing students, and participating in activities that undermined campus security. A recent incident involving unlawful assembly, vandalism, and destruction of university property further intensified the administration’s decision, as their actions were captured by campus CCTV systems.

The University Management emphasized that these individuals are no longer recognized as bonafide students and will be treated as trespassers if found on any part of the campus. Current students have also been strongly warned against associating with the pair, with strict disciplinary measures promised for anyone found aiding or abetting them.

“KNUST remains committed to maintaining a safe, secure, and academically conducive environment for all members of the University community,” said Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, Deputy Registrar of the University Relations Office.

The university’s firm stance reflects its zero-tolerance policy toward indiscipline and misconduct that threatens the well-being of its academic community.
