KMA Orders Evacuation Ahead of Santasi-Ahodwo Dual Road Construction

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has directed all car dealers, mechanic shops, taxi operators, squatters, temporary structure owners, and traders operating along the Santasi–Ahodwo stretch to vacate the area by October 30, 2025.

The directive comes as part of preparations for the construction of a dual carriage road from Santasi to the Ahodwo Roundabout, linking the Asokwa Interchange. The project is being funded through a grant secured by the Government of Ghana from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

According to the Assembly, the evacuation exercise is necessary to pave the way for the smooth commencement of the major road construction project.

The KMA further cautioned that beginning November 1, 2025, a forced eviction exercise will be carried out on all individuals, businesses, and structures still occupying the designated stretch.

Management of the Assembly has therefore urged affected persons and the general public to comply with the directive to ensure the timely completion of the project.

For further clarification and assistance, affected persons are advised to contact Mr. Godwin Dela Larho, Head of Metro NADMO, or Pln. Benjamin Agyanim Boateng, Head of Physical Planning at KMA.
