Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has confirmed that FIFA has imposed a registration ban on the club due to unresolved financial obligations linked to the Renne Hiddink case.
In an official statement released on Friday, 22 August 2025, the club acknowledged the seriousness of the sanction but assured supporters that management and the board are actively engaging the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and FIFA to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.
Hearts of Oak further clarified that the ban will not affect their current squad, as all player registrations for the season were completed before the enforcement of the sanction. This means there will be no immediate disruption to the team’s participation in ongoing competitions.

The club appealed to its fan base, popularly known as the Phobian family, to remain calm and united during this challenging period. Management emphasized its commitment to transparency, accountability, and the long-term stability of the club.
“Discussions are ongoing, and we are confident that a constructive resolution will be reached,” the statement read.
Hearts of Oak ended the statement by thanking supporters for their unwavering loyalty, reinforcing the club’s famous motto: “Never Say Die.”
