The Ghana Police Service has issued a strong disclaimer following the circulation of false information on social media claiming that a new police recruitment exercise is underway.
In an official statement signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, the Service firmly denied the authenticity of these claims, describing them as entirely false and misleading.
“The attention of the Ghana Police Service has been drawn to information circulating on various social media platforms regarding an ongoing recruitment exercise. The Police Administration wishes to categorically state that this information is false,” the statement emphasized.

According to the Police, no new recruitment exercise has been announced, and any legitimate hiring process will be made public through the Service’s official communication channels. These include the official website, verified social media platforms, and reputable national newspapers.
The Service warned the general public to disregard any such fraudulent announcements and avoid interacting with individuals or groups offering recruitment in exchange for money. “The public is hereby advised to disregard such fraudulent claims and desist from engaging with individuals or groups who promise recruitment opportunities in exchange for money,” the statement added.
The Police further assured Ghanaians that investigations are ongoing to track and prosecute those behind the scam. The public is urged to assist by reporting any such fraudulent activity to the nearest police station.
This move comes amid a surge in online scams exploiting job-seekers and vulnerable individuals looking to join the security services.
For verified information about recruitment or other Police Service announcements, the public is advised to consult only the official channels of the Ghana Police Service.
