The Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P) College of Education at Amedzofe has inaugurated a newly constructed six-bedroom staff flat, to improve teacher accommodation and enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
The project, described as the College’s “75th Anniversary Remembrance Project,” was financed through the school’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF) and proceeds from its 75th anniversary celebrations.
Dr Dickson Tsey, the Principal of the College, made the announcement during the institution’s 17th Congregation ceremony, where he commended staff, students, and alumni for supporting the initiative.

He explained that the flat would accommodate six lecturers, ensuring that staff remained on campus to provide academic and mentorship support to students.
“The staff flat is a direct investment in improving teaching and learning outcomes, as it brings our lecturers closer to students and strengthens the academic environment,” Dr Tsey said.
The building was officially commissioned by Rt. Rev. Dr Lt. Col. Bliss Divine Agbeko (Rtd), the Moderator of the General Assembly of the E.P Church, Ghana.
The Moderator blessed the facility and prayed for the continued growth of the college, urging its management to remain committed to excellence in teacher training.

He praised the college for its foresight in using the anniversary celebrations as a platform to raise resources for a lasting project.
Dr Tsey used the occasion to thank the Moderator, sponsors, and donors for their support, emphasising that the project reflected the spirit of sacrifice and commitment that had characterised the college since its establishment.
He added that the project also highlighted the importance of internally driven development efforts in complementing government support for education.
The Principal assured stakeholders that management would continue to pursue projects that directly benefit staff and students while upholding the college’s tradition of discipline and academic excellence.
Staff members present expressed their appreciation for the accommodation project, describing it as a morale booster that would enhance their dedication to teaching.
The E.P College of Education, one of the oldest teacher training institutions in the Volta Region, continues to play a critical role in producing professional teachers for Ghana’s educational system.
