In the wake of the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of several high-ranking Ghanaian officials, including Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Minister for Environment, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, renowned pastor and founder of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Dr. Mensa Otabil, has offered a moving prayer of comfort for the bereaved families and the entire nation.
Speaking from the ICGC headquarters, Dr. Otabil acknowledged the deep pain and devastation brought on by the tragedy, and turned to God as the ultimate source of hope and healing.
“Father, we thank You, for You are the God of all comfort,” he prayed. “When our hearts are overwhelmed, and we don’t know where to turn, You are the Rock that is higher than us.”

Dr. Otabil lifted up the grieving families in prayer, asking for divine intervention in their time of sorrow. “We raise the family that have lost so much to You Lord, and we pray that Your Holy Spirit, who is the only Comforter worthy of comforting, will comfort them, breathe life into families devastated by the loss.”
His words come as the nation continues to mourn the sudden loss of eight individuals in the crash, an incident that has plunged Ghana into deep sorrow. President John Dramani Mahama has declared a period of national mourning, with flags flying at half-mast across the country.
Faith leaders, international dignitaries, and citizens alike continue to express condolences and stand in solidarity with the affected families, as prayers and tributes pour in from across the globe.
