Dr. Bryan Acheampong Hosts Okwawu United FC and Kwahu Traditional Leaders at Rock City

The Member of Parliament for Abetifi and Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, warmly hosted Okwawu United Football Club alongside the Kwahuhene, Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III, and Kwahuhemaa, Nana Adwoa Gyamfua III, during a special courtesy visit at Rock City.

The visit brought together the club’s management, technical team, and players, who expressed their appreciation by presenting Dr. Acheampong with autographed replica jerseys. Touched by the gesture, Dr. Acheampong described the moment as one he will “forever treasure.”

Speaking after the visit, Dr. Acheampong emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in strengthening Kwahu’s growth. He highlighted the significant role traditional leadership, sports institutions, and the youth play in building pride within the community and projecting Kwahu’s image beyond its borders.

He further commended Okwawu United FC for their resilience, commitment to excellence, and discipline in representing Kwahu’s rich heritage on the national stage. “As Kwahu grows stronger in unity and purpose, it gives me immense joy to see our traditional leadership, our sports institutions, and our youth working hand in hand to build pride for our community and beyond,” he stated.

The event comes at a symbolic time as Okwawu United celebrates its 50th anniversary, with renewed energy to restore the club’s place among Ghana’s football elite.

Dr. Acheampong concluded with a rallying call for collective effort to uplift Kwahu, Asase Aban, and Ghana to “higher heights.”
