Book of Condolence Opens for Victims of Helicopter Crash

The Government of Ghana has announced the opening of a Book of Condolence in honor of the eight distinguished citizens who tragically lost their lives in the August 6, 2025 helicopter crash.

The books will be available to the public from Sunday, August 10 to Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the following locations:

  • Ministry of Defence
  • Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • Ghana Armed Forces Headquarters, Burma Camp
  • Air Force Base, Takoradi
  • National Democratic Congress (NDC) Headquarters
  • NADMO Head Office

The Presidency has invited government officials, dignitaries, political leaders, members of the Armed Forces, and the general public to sign the books and pay their respects.

The tragic crash claimed the lives of Defence Minister Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and six others. The government describes the loss as “a profound tragedy for the nation.”
