Captain of the senior national football team, the Black Stars, Jordan Ayew, has extended heartfelt appreciation to Ghanaians and all stakeholders for their unwavering support throughout the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
In an official statement, the Crystal Palace forward expressed deep gratitude to his teammates, technical handlers, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the Government of Ghana, and the millions of passionate fans who rallied behind the team during the qualification campaign.
“I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your undiluted support throughout the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. As captain of the Black Stars, I’m honoured to lead this talented group of players, and I’m proud of the work we’ve done together,” Ayew stated.

He commended his teammates for their dedication, hard work, and unity, describing the experience of leading the team as both humbling and inspiring.
“To my teammates, your commitment to the team has been exceptional. I’m grateful to play alongside each of you and proud of the bond we’ve built,” he added.
The captain also extended appreciation to the technical and coaching staff for their tireless efforts, professionalism, and tactical guidance throughout the qualification journey.
“To the coaching staff, thank you for your guidance, expertise, and tireless efforts in preparing us for this campaign. Your leadership has been instrumental in our success.”
Acknowledging the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ayew lauded the organization for its continued investment in football development and for providing the team with the necessary platform to represent the nation with pride.
He further thanked the Government of Ghana for its unwavering commitment to sports development and its consistent support for the Black Stars.
“Your encouragement and investment in sports serve as a great motivation to us as players,” he emphasized.
Finally, Ayew reserved his warmest words for the people of Ghana, whose unflinching support, prayers, and enthusiasm have remained a source of inspiration for the team.
