The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) has issued a stern appeal to residents who may have taken parts of the helicopter or personal belongings from the site of Wednesday’s tragic crash to return them immediately.
According to intelligence gathered by the ARCC, some individuals who were among the first to arrive at the crash site on August 6, 2025, collected various items, including pieces of the aircraft and personal effects. The Council is warning that all such items, no matter how small — from metals and screws to drives and boards — must be handed back without delay.
Regional Minister Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene stated that the items can be returned to local Unit Committees, Assembly Members, Municipal or District Chief Executives, or directly to members of the investigation team on the ground.

To encourage compliance, the ARCC is offering a cash reward for any person who willingly returns recovered items before the close of day on Monday, August 11, 2025. However, anyone found in possession of such items after this date will be treated as a criminal and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
The call comes in the wake of the helicopter crash that claimed eight lives, including key government officials, sending shockwaves across the nation.
“The general public is hereby notified,” Dr. Amoakohene emphasized, urging full cooperation to aid the ongoing investigation.
