Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club, one of Ghana’s most iconic football institutions, is celebrating its 114th anniversary today, November 11, 2025. Founded in 1911, the club marks over a century of football excellence, community pride, and unwavering spirit under its legendary motto — “Never Say Die Until the Bones Are Rotten.”
In a statement issued by Hearts Management, the club paid tribute to its loyal supporters, stakeholders, and leadership for their enduring contribution to the club’s remarkable journey.
“To our loyal supporters, you remain the lifeblood of this club. Your chants and songs inspire our players to victory, and your passion has earned us the title ‘The Continental Club Masters,’” the statement read.

Hearts of Oak’s legacy stretches far beyond domestic dominance. The club boasts an illustrious record that includes triumphs in the CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup, alongside multiple Ghana Premier League titles. These achievements have cemented Hearts of Oak’s reputation as not just a football team but a symbol of resilience and unity in Ghanaian sports.
The management also extended gratitude to His Royal Majesty Togbe Afede XIV and the Board of Directors for their leadership and investment in the club’s future. Landmark projects such as the Pobiman Training Complex, enhanced player welfare, and modernized facilities were highlighted as key steps toward restoring the club’s dominance both locally and on the continental stage.
“These investments are seeds of future victories and trophies,” the statement noted, emphasizing the need for unity, professionalism, transparency, and mutual respect among all stakeholders.
As Hearts of Oak celebrates 114 years of history, the club stands as a beacon of Ghanaian pride and a living testament to perseverance. The message concluded with a rallying call to all Phobians to continue supporting the club through its evolution:
“Hearts of Oak is not merely a club; it is an institution, a symbol of resilience, and a beacon of Ghanaian pride. Happy 114th Anniversary, Beloved Phobia. OAK TREE! Never Say Die!”
