The Ghana Armed Forces has announced the temporary closure of the Trauma and Surgical Emergency Unit at the 37 Military Hospital to facilitate routine fumigation and maintenance works. The closure will take effect from Monday, August 4 to Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
According to a press release issued by the Department of Public Relations at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, the exercise forms part of the hospital’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of hygiene and ensuring the safety of both patients and staff.
During the period of closure, Simango Ward will serve as the temporary ward for all trauma and surgical emergency cases.

Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin (Ghana Navy), Acting Director General of Public Relations, assured the public that adequate measures have been put in place to maintain continuity of care and minimize inconvenience.
“The Military appreciates the continued trust and support of the general public,” the statement concluded.
This announcement serves as a proactive health and safety intervention, reinforcing the 37 Military Hospital’s reputation as a leading medical institution in Ghana.
