University for Development Studies (UDS) Hosts Global Football Champions
The University for Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale is set to host a major celebration as it welcomes the World Champions of the 2025 FISU University Football Tournament on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
This event, themed “Come Out and Meet the World Champions!”, is expected to draw hundreds of students, sports lovers, and dignitaries from across Ghana to honor the global champions of university football.
The team will arrive at the Tamale International Airport at 10:30 AM, followed by a grand durbar on the UDS Tamale Campus at 3:00 PM.

The durbar will feature cultural displays, musical performances, and speeches from university authorities, including the Vice-Chancellor of UDS, who will deliver a keynote address on the importance of sports in education and youth empowerment.
The 2025 FISU University Football Championship — often referred to as the “World Cup of University Football” — brings together elite university teams from around the globe to showcase skill, discipline, and teamwork.
